And I’ve been thinking about how we are – with one another – a work in progress.

Advent is a season where we wait for God to come again and visit us for good. But what if there is also another reality where God is waiting on us? Waiting for our advent as well?
The fourth text from last Sunday’s Advent passages is Philippians 1:3-11.
In his letter from prison, Paul expresses gratitude and affection for the church, a longing to be with them and a desire that they may bear the fruit of righteousness in the day of the Lord.
You might wonder what that has to do with the last three days of passages and more specifically, what that text has to do with Advent.
Since I want to talk about something specific he says in the text, I’ll do my best to first answer what you might be wondering.
If Advent means anything at all, it means that the the God who we wait for, the God who is incarnate in Jesus Christ, has given us our life in the life of Christ so that we might be Christ to one another.
Paul is essentially talking about what it means for the church to become the advent of God.
