And I’ve been thinking about some of the ways we wait in silence – Pt 1.

I love being up in the morning before the rest of the house is awake. I pour my pour-over coffee and stretch my stretches. I find my blue chair in the corner of my living room, click on a solitary light and begin the day with a book in my hand.
I cherish these moments of silence and hold on to them as long as possible.
The noise of life is always around the corner, ready to ambush. It’s lurking in the dark bedrooms upstairs and in the expectations of my calendar. The inevitable sounds of the day hover over me like rain cloud ready to burst. Like a whale in flight, suspended above the sea before its imminent splash.
Silence is golden. Not only because we know how suddenly it can slip away but because of how it serves our soul.
